About Ashley, From Ashley

I’m Ash. Ashley. Ashbash. Mom.

I’m the face behind the camera—the finger on the trigger and the voice behind the posts. I LOVE Carmex, sun on my skin, French fries, chocolate, selfies, trashy reality TV, dogs, and reading. I love to travel (and will do so to take your photos if you’ll let me). I like campfires, dry red wine, nature, the comfort of my couch, and 1 cup of coffee with cream in the morning. I’ve recently forced myself to love the gym, my healthy and giving body, and my clear mind.

I love taking pictures! I thoroughly and fiercely love connecting with new families and individuals. I am blessed to have photographed some of the same families annually for over the last 10 years and humbled to watch them grow.

I don’t love mushrooms, sleeping with makeup on, or being around people with quick tempers or unkind hearts. Love for all: race, gender, orientation, background, political backgrounds. Just be who you are. I’ll love you for it.

This is starting to sound like a dating profile. Which, by the way, I’m a single momma! I’m always the wedding photographer and never the bride. My daughter is the reason for so many of my “whys”. I encourage my girl daily and remind her that she can do hard things! And running a business is one of those “hard things” I’ve avoided for years. But here I am. I can and I WILL do hard things. Watch me slay!

My Style of Photography is Natural Light. The only time I pull out artificial lighting is on Wedding Days dance photography. I enjoy semi-posed setups and candid's. Raw emotion is most meaningful to me. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I need to focus on more smiling, looking at the camera shots that Grandma will enjoy.  I like to catch you when you're least expecting it. Momma's adjusting baby girls' hair behind her ears. Husband resting his hand on his wife's lower back. I'll ask you to smell hair, touch noses, laugh your craziest laugh, and hold hands. The suspense and excitement of waiting for your gallery is one of the craziest feelings.

We decorate our homes with photos that pull at our heartstrings and complement our decor. We gift prints to families that they can treasure forever. We store them away in random boxes and pull them out now and again and reminisce. We display our favorites on social media, at weddings, and graduations, and in the end, our family chooses their favorites of us for our funeral.

I may be biased BUT photography is a gift that you should treat yourself to. An investment that will not fade. Let me capture this time in your life so that you can look back and think “Wow. Remember us then?” SO many people say to me, “We are just so busy we can never find time to take family photos.” If you’re reading this, here’s your sign. Make the time. I just need 60 minutes with your family on a random weeknight near Green Bay, WI. The chaos WILL be worth it.
